GENERAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The current submission period for Entre Magazine, Volume 2 (Fall 2024) is now closed. We appreciate your interest and hope that you will consider submitting your work to us in the future. Currently, we plan to release our magazine on a biannual basis (twice a year), with an issue releasing in the Spring and the Fall.
We accept creative fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and visual works that focus on the queer and/or Latina/o/x/e experience and/or any experiences that deal with hybridity, fluidity, and inbetweenness (be it race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexuality, etc.) Artists do not have to belong to the queer and/or Latina/o/x/e communities in order to submit to our magazine; however, in alignment with Entre's mission, queer and/or Latina/o/x/e artists may be given higher consideration.

Submissions must be previously unpublished; please do not submit any works that have been previously published on personal blogs, social media, or in other magazines, anthologies, or chapbooks.

We will gladly accept simultaneous submissions. Please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere and it will be withdrawn from the consideration process.

All submissions should include (aside from the work) an artist's bio (50-100 words), an artist's photo, and a brief statement describing the artist's motivation behind the work--what is the intention of the work? What does the work represent? How does it thematically center on our theme?
Artists are free to submit multiple works in multiple categories, but please be advised that only one work in one genre will most likely be selected to encourage a diverse representation of artists.
FORMATTING
Written works must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Fiction submissions should not exceed a maximum of 5,000 words. Poetry submissions should not exceed a maximum of 3 poems. Fiction submissions should be double-spaced, utilize a standard typeface and font size (12 pt), and have numbered pages. Poetry submissions can be single-spaced, but should still utilize a standard typeface and font size. If submitting more than one poem, please start each new poem on its own page.

Visual works must be submitted either as JPEGs (JPGs), PNGs, or any widely-accepted image format (up to 100 MB). Each file should be labeled with the title of the work. All visual works will automatically be considered for the magazine's cover art as well.
PUBLISHING
1. All submissions are subjected to an editing process. Due to the small and independent nature of our editing team, works that require a lot of editing may not be selected. If selected for publication, artists will have the final say as to how their submissions will appear in Entre (i.e. proofs will be provided for approval prior to the magazine's release).

2. By submitting to Entre, artists agree to be published in Entre Magazine digitally/online (if selected for the website's featured posts) and in hard-copy format. Artists also agree to be promoted on Entre's social media platforms. Social media handles may be included (if provided during the submission process).
3. After first publication in Entre Magazine, artists will always retain all rights to their work.

4. Due to our small, independent format, Entre currently does not provide monetary compensation for publications, nor can free hard copies of our magazines be provided to published contributors. If a volume is not published digitally, however, all contributors will receive a free digital version of the volume in which they are published.
